A quick note

Hi all,

Just writing a quick note as many have reached out as to when the guide will come out for the upcoming California June primary election.

I only send the guide on state ballot measures to help folks understand what each one actually means underneath all the political noise. I don’t send it on local or county measures as everyone’s measures are different, unlike state measures where we all vote on the same set.

Same goes for local candidates, but I generally also pass on an analysis of state candidates as voting on individual candidates feels like a very personal choice and involves a lot more subjectivity compared to something like a state ballot measure.

But I will answer the question I have gotten from many as to who I am voting for in the Governor’s race: I like Matt Mahan. I think he is the most reasonable candidate in the race even though his late entrance and first time state candidacy means he is trailing in the polls. He also happens to be a good guy.
